SIMPLY "YVES SAINT LAURENT"
"With Saint Laurent, Art became Fashion - and Fashion an Art" writes in the catalogue the exhibition's patron, French Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy.
Simply called "Yves Saint Laurent", a massive retrospective of the couturier's 44-year career, and the first since his death at age 71 in June 2008, is in Paris at PETIT PALAIS, BEAUX-ARTS MUSEUM through August 29.
First known as a boy wonder, then as a living legend, this revolutionary designer created true fashion icons and they all are on view in 307 models, from the safari jacket, the peacoat, the tuxedo and the jumpsuit to his celebrated transposition of his favorite artwork by Braque and Mondrian among others into couture designs.
A dazzling exhibition not to be missed!
